Video and Documentary Films

Earth Focus Illicit IvoryJonathan Hutson is featured in “Earth Focus: Illicit Ivory” (2015), about why Africa’s last wild elephants are disappearing, and what must be done to save them.

Jonathan narrates “Kony’s Ivory: LRA Elephant Poaching in Garamba National Park” (2013). This five-minute video is based on his field research with Kasper Agger in Congo. Their accompanying report was the first to document that warlord Joseph Kony ordered his Lord’s Resistance Army to poach elephants and bring him the tusks to help fund mass atrocities.

He appears in the documentary film “Across the Frontlines: Ending the Nuba Genocide” (2012). He recounts evidence of mass atrocities in Sudan, including eyewitness reports of mass killing and mass graves, corroborated by photos, video, and DigitalGlobe satellite imagery.
